Update to this page/ my family and I journeyed to North Carolina in summer 2022 where we both had unique work opportunities. He managed a usda butchery and processing facility for a small Appalachian farm, and I was able to immerse myself in the creative culture of the mountains of western North Carolina.

To say our experience was amazing, would be an understatement. We love Boone and the mountains with all of our heart and we think about them every day. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have opened my own shop downtown and everyone who made that possible. Especially my amazing employees and other artists in the community who participated in the collaboration. It was a dream to curate my work amongst so many other amazing artists.

Right now, I am currently taking a break from online sales, and focusing on my family. Please stay updated as I navigate a plan to delve into the online world in a way that works, as most of my success has been in person at markets. Especially the year I had in western NC. My customers have made me believe in myself, in a way that makes me come back to this space over and over. It is hard not to be analytical of my work in a way that matches my own confidence as a human being. But because of the love and connection with my jewelry and paintings, I know that it is worth continuing to share my own joy and peace with others. My art has always provided that for me, and to connect with anyone through that is so lovely and what makes art universal.

My name is Hannah Dick- I am the artist behind Always Afternoon. I am a 31 year old Mother, Wife, Artist, and Nurse from Louisiana. I grew up in rural Southwest Louisiana amongst rice fields, and crawfish ponds. Even as a young girl I was always mesmerized by nature and the simplicity of clover flowers and blue skies. Louisiana is a resting place, with magic of calm, and everyone I ever loved here- as my family. It is my hearts home- and my forever inspiration for Always Afternoon.

After graduating high school- I moved to Portland Maine to pursue Art and a culture change. I was filled with inspiration to travel after visiting the New Mexico Mountains of Taos as a young woman, and I bolted suitcase in hand-to the sea. After building my portfolio- and my process as a painter, I discovered that I was to be a young mother- and so my journey took me back home to Louisiana.

After completing Nursing school- I started to pick up a brush again. Here, 10 years later, married with two sons- Hollis and Garner. I have developed my name as Always Afternoon and feel as though I am finally creating a reflection of what has always been inside of me. Using color, patterns, and abstract floral designs to convey emotions and inspiration that has always been.

I dream in color, and endless flowing energy that makes its way onto canvas and into my jewelry designs. My hope is to continue being Always Afternoon as long as time allows, and bring lovely items into your life one piece at a time.
